Eligibility Criteria

  • Branches Eligible are BE (CMPN, INFT)

  • Aggregate Percentage 60% up to current semester

  • No live ATKT

Registration Process

  • The registration form was released on 14th September.

  • There were two registration forms: one on the company website and another provided by the college via Google Forms.

  • While registering on the company website, a resume format provided by the company had to be edited and uploaded there.

  • A total of 242 students were shortlisted for the online test.

Online Test

The online test was conducted on the HirePro platform. The duration of the test was 90 minutes. Each section had its separate timer. You are not permitted to move to the next section without completing the previous one. All the questions were in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format except the coding questions. This round was split into five sections.

  1. Verbal Ability 13 Questions - 13 Minutes

  2. Verbal Reasoning 12 Questions - 12 Minutes

  3. Quantitative Aptitude 10 Questions - 15 Minutes

  4. Technical MCQ’s 30 Questions - 20 Minutes

  5. Coding Questions 2 Questions - 30 Minutes

Time management is crucial for this test as each section has a fixed timer and cannot be revisited once completed. The coding questions are of easy to medium difficulty—aim to solve both. For the MCQs, focus on maintaining accuracy and try to solve at least 70% correctly.

Communication Test

The communication test is called Deloitte Versant. Proper pronunciation of English words, strong listening skills, and accurate sentence framing are essential to clear this round. This round was split into six sections. It is recommended to use good-quality headphones for this round.

  1. Reading - You have to repeat some English sentences given on your screen.

  2. Repeat - You have to repeat a sentence exactly the way you hear it.

  3. Questions - You have to answer simple questions in one word. For example, what are french fries and burgers. (ans food)

  4. Sentence build - You will have to reassemble a jumbled statement.

  5. Story retelling - You will hear a story and you have to retell it in your own words.

  6. Open questions - You will be given a statement and you have to put forth your opinion on it. For example, should students give equal time to studies and physical activities.

It is very crucial to listen carefully as some pronounciations may be tricky. For the last two sections, be confident and use high vocabulary words if possible. After the online and communication test, 25 students were shortlisted for the virtual interview process.

HR Interview

This was the easiest round of the entire process. The following questions were asked

  1. Tell me about yourself

  2. Tell me about your projects

  3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years

  4. Mention your strengths and weaknesses.

  5. Why Deloitte?

  6. What is the difference between a manager and a leader?

The interview lasted about 10 minutes. I had prepared well for "Why Deloitte" and similar questions, so make sure to attend the pre-placement talk carefully. You can use a few points from there to answer such questions, which demonstrates that you know about the company and align with its values. This also shows that you’ve done your research and are genuinely interested in the company.

Additionally, when answering HR questions, it’s important to be genuine and highlight both your strengths and areas for improvement. Be confident in your responses. All the students were moved to the technical interview.

Technical Interview

The technical round took place right after the HR round. We were provided with the names of our interviewers a day in advance, so I researched about their backgrounds on LinkedIn. Most of the technical questions focused on my internships, projects, and the features I had implemented. The following questions were asked:

  1. Tell me about yourself

  2. Since you have won a hackathon, explain the project you worked on during the hackathon.

  3. Questions regarding the features of the project.

  4. Since you have worked on OCR, which OCR tools have you explored and what were the demerits in them?

  5. Do you know about ERP software? Which ERP software have you worked on?

  6. Suppose you have to build a software to increase the sales of a grocery store, what features would you include in the software?

  7. Tell me about another project you've worked on.

The interview lasted for around 30 minutes. When questions about your projects are asked, make sure you have thorough knowledge about them, including the tech stack, libraries, and tools used. Since one of my projects was similar to something the company already had, the interviewer tried to dive deep into it to assess my understanding. It’s important to explain your projects with real-world examples, highlighting the practical aspects.

Similarly, when talking about your internship experience, cover both the technologies you worked on and the projects you contributed to. This gives a complete picture of your skills and hands-on experience. At the end of your responses, don't hesitate to ask questions to show your interest and engage in a two-way conversation. After the technical interview, 16 students moved to the final round.

Final Interview

For the final round, everyone had the same panel where a Senior Manager of Deloitte from Washington, USA was interviewing us. This round was also like a HR round but more focused on assessing our personality and determining whether we would be a good fit for Deloitte’s work culture. The following questions were asked:

  1. Introduce yourself

  2. What are your likes and dislikes?

  3. What are your hobbies?

  4. What is your family background?

  5. Your father is a civil engineer, so why did you choose IT?

  6. Where do you stay in Mumbai?

  7. Since you live in Thane, how do you travel to college?

  8. Why should I hire you?

  9. Do you have any plans to pursue a master’s degree in the future?

The interview was quite relaxed as the interviewer was friendly, making the conversation comfortable. At the end of the interview, I asked a few questions about the company to gain more insights. After the final round, a total of 10 students were placed at Deloitte.
